NORTHBOUND I-45, TEXAS — All northbound main lanes of Interstate 45 are completely closed between Mile Markers 265 and 266 following a fatal crash reported late Sunday night. The blockage extends from 945 feet north of Business I-45J to approximately 0.7 miles north of FM-660.
Emergency personnel and collision investigators are actively working at the scene. Traffic management has established a mandatory detour to route northbound motorists around the closed section of the highway.
Heavy delays are impacting the area as recovery and investigation operations continue. TxDOT estimates that the closure and clearance will last until approximately 2:00 a.m.
Motorists and commercial freight dispatchers should seek alternate routes and allow substantial extra transit time through this corridor. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
