I-30, TEXAS — A major bridge and roadway closure is currently in place along Eastbound and Westbound Interstate 30 near Mile Marker 47, just west of the Interstate 45 interchange. The Cesar Chavez Boulevard bridge across I-30 is fully shut down for reconstruction. Multiple key movements are blocked, including northbound and southbound Cesar Chavez over I-30, connecting ramps between Cesar Chavez and both directions of I-30, and the I-30 Eastbound Collector-Distributor connector to northbound I-30.
Traffic management crews have closed all affected lanes and established formal detour routes around the work zone. Construction crews remain on site to carry out the structural bridge reconstruction, and barricades are actively preventing cross-bridge and ramp access.
The long-term closure took effect on January 12, 2026, and TxDOT estimates that the reconstruction work will remain ongoing until November 3, 2028, at approximately 8:00 AM.
Motorists and commercial freight dispatchers are advised to plan alternate routes through the downtown interchange area and strictly follow all posted detour signage. We will update this report as further details or lane reconfigurations become available.
