TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS — All main lanes on Interstate 35 are shut down in both north and southbound directions near Mile Marker 235, roughly one mile north of Loop 343. The complete corridor closure went into effect at approximately 3:28 a.m. following a severe incident on the highway.
Emergency responders and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) maintenance crews are on the scene managing traffic control. Active detours have been established around the closure zone to route vehicles off the main freeway lanes.
Motorists are experiencing heavy delays throughout the area. Transportation officials currently estimate the roadway will remain blocked until approximately 6:00 a.m., though clearance operations could extend past this window depending on scene recovery.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers are advised to plan alternate routes and bypass the affected corridor entirely. We will update this report as more details or lane reopening confirmations become available.
