NORTHBOUND US-87, TEXAS — A traffic incident has forced the closure of the left lane on northbound US-87 between mile markers 300 and 302, stretching from 0.35 miles to 1.18 miles south of Loop 472. All travel lanes through the stretch have been reduced to a single lane, triggering notable delays for northbound traffic.
Traffic management crews are actively on scene directing two-way traffic control through the single remaining open lane. Flaggers and warning signs are stationed along the corridor, and drivers are advised to be prepared to come to a complete stop upon approaching the work zone.
TxDOT reports that the disruption began around 3:52 PM and expects the incident to clear by approximately 6:30 PM. No official detour has been established, meaning all northbound and southbound flow must alternate through the single open travel lane.
Commercial drivers and fleet dispatchers should factor in delays through this corridor or plan alternate routes to avoid the bottleneck south of Loop 472. We will update this report as TxDOT and clearance crews resolve the blockage and restore normal traffic flow.
