SH-16, TEXAS — Both northbound and southbound lanes of State Highway 16 are shut down following a traffic crash south of US-190. The closure spans from 1.6 miles to 3.2 miles south of the US-190 junction, near mile marker 416, resulting in a complete stoppage of travel in both directions.
Emergency responders and recovery crews are currently on the scene working to assess the situation and clear the roadway. With no official detour designated at this time, traffic backups are forming in both directions.
TxDOT estimates that clearance efforts will continue through approximately 4:45 PM, though delays may persist as traffic queues clear.
