UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - October 26, 2026 8:00 PM UTC Northbound and southbound FM-168 has reopened between 2.992 miles south of FM-37 and 2.97 miles north of FM-54 following an earlier closure for water over the roadway.
NORTH AND SOUTHBOUND FM-168, TEXAS — High water has forced a closure on FM-168 in both directions between 2.99 miles south of FM-37 and 2.97 miles north of FM-54. TxDOT reported the hazard at Mile Marker 190 on the morning of October 26, 2026, citing standing water covering the travel lanes.
State maintenance personnel are monitoring the flooded section and evaluating road conditions. Although no official detour has been established and traffic delays are currently minimal, the severe roadway hazard restricts travel along the corridor.
Transportation officials estimate that clearance operations and water recession will keep the segment impacted until approximately 5:00 PM.
Motorists and commercial fleet operators are advised to avoid this stretch of FM-168 and seek alternate regional routes. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
