FM-1424, TEXAS — High water and flooded low water crossings have created severe roadway hazards on FM-1424 in both northbound and southbound directions. The impacted stretch extends from 2.161 miles south of FM-214 to 2.93 miles north of SH-86, encompassing mile markers 144 through 146.
Transportation crews are monitoring the impacted crossings as water continues to cover portions of the highway. While no formal detour has been posted and traffic delays are currently minimal, the flooding presents a significant risk to traveling vehicles.
Crews estimate the flooding conditions and clearance efforts will remain active until approximately 5:30 PM on November 3, 2026, depending on weather and drainage rates.
Drivers and freight dispatchers are advised to exercise extreme caution, avoid entering flooded sections of the road, and consider alternate corridors. We will update this report as conditions change or TxDOT provides new information.
