INTERSTATE 35, TEXAS — Significant frontage road closures are in place along both northbound and southbound Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 160 and 161, stretching from east of Loop 368 to south of I-410. Main travel lanes on I-35 remain completely open and unaffected. Restrictions include a permanent closure of the northbound frontage road inside lane from Exit 160 to Splashtown Drive, as well as closures along the southbound frontage road near Hormel Drive.
TxDOT crews are on scene executing drill shaft and column installations, waterline removals, and pothole exploration. Additional nighttime closures are scheduled on both frontage roads at Frost Bank Center Drive, with traffic actively detoured to adjacent frontage lanes to navigate around the work zones.
The high-severity construction operation is scheduled to remain active through Monday, November 9, 2026, with an estimated conclusion at 9:00 a.m.
Truck drivers and local commuters should anticipate frontage road delays and seek alternate entrance or exit ramps when traveling near Splashtown Drive and Frost Bank Center Drive. We will update this report as conditions change or if delays escalate.
