EASTBOUND US-290, TEXAS — The eastbound US-290 mainlane exit ramp to William Cannon Drive is closed nightly for work zone safety and painting operations. Located approximately half a mile east of SH-71 near mile marker 570, the ramp closure completely restricts access from the eastbound mainlanes during active work hours.
Traffic management personnel have implemented active detours to redirect traffic around the work zone. The ramp is closed nightly between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., with Friday night closures shifting to 10:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m.
The multi-day maintenance operation is scheduled to conclude by 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026, when all lanes and ramp access are expected to reopen to normal traffic patterns.
Commercial truck drivers and local commuters should plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time through the corridor. We will update this report as TxDOT provides further information.
