EAST AND WESTBOUND SH-45, TEXAS — Severe icy conditions have disrupted travel on both east and westbound State Highway 45 near the State Highway 130 interchange, prompting high-severity closures and active detours between mile markers 524 and 622. Travel through this section is heavily restricted, and motorists are experiencing significant delays.
Transportation officials and emergency maintenance teams are managing on-scene traffic control and routing vehicles toward designated detour paths around the interchange. TxDOT has formally discouraged travel through the corridor until roadway surfaces can be rendered safe for travel.
TxDOT incident management indicates that conditions and travel restrictions will remain active for an extended period, with clearing and monitoring operations underway to manage the corridor's severe hazard status.
Truck drivers and fleet dispatchers should immediately adjust routes away from SH-45 and SH-130 to prevent bottlenecks and extended transit delays. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
