LOOP 212, TEXAS — Northbound and southbound lanes of Loop 212 (SL0212) are experiencing severe traffic disruptions and lane impacts from 0.211 miles south of FM-973 to 0.096 miles south of US-290 (mile markers 0548 to 0546). TxDOT has rated the incident at maximum severity, warning motorists that travel is strongly discouraged due to hazardous icy conditions.
Traffic management personnel have established detours around the affected section of the corridor to divert traffic away from the hazard. Response crews and highway monitors are on scene managing flow and coordinating routing changes.
Motorists and commercial freight operators should anticipate major delays throughout the corridor. The current TxDOT advisory window for this extended disruption extends through August 25, 2027, at 4:30 PM, pending updated roadway evaluations.
