LOOP 473, TEXAS — Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Loop 473 (Jacksboro Highway) are completely closed to through traffic between Hatton Road and Southwest Parkway, extending between Mile Markers 194 and 196 north of SH-79. The total roadway closure follows a severe traffic accident reported Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews and traffic management personnel are on scene managing the incident. All through traffic is being diverted, with an active detour established at Hatton Road to navigate drivers around the blocked corridor.
TxDOT incident management estimates the roadway will remain closed through the early afternoon, with clear conditions tentatively projected by 3:30 p.m.
Truck drivers, dispatchers, and local motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and anticipate travel delays through the detour area. We will update this report as soon as TxDOT confirms lane reopenings.
