SH 174, TEXAS — Alternating lane closures will impact both northbound and southbound lanes on SH 174 from 0.36 miles north of FM-731 to 1.44 miles south of FM-731 (Mile Markers 286 to 288). The short-term closures will restrict traffic to one lane at a time in each travel direction to facilitate active construction.
TxDOT crews will be conducting milling and paving operations that extend through the intersections of Hulen Street and Commons Drive. Temporary detours are being established to maintain traffic flow while these key intersections are temporarily blocked during the work.
Work is restricted to overnight hours only, running nightly from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The project began on October 25, 2026, and is scheduled to wrap up by 6:00 AM on October 30, 2026.
Commercial truck drivers and local motorists should expect nighttime delays and follow all posted detour signage when navigating through the work zone. We will update this report as further updates are released by transportation officials.
