UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - October 26, 2026 5:25 PM UTC Northbound I-35W has reopened between FM-66 and FM-67 following an earlier accident.
NORTHBOUND I-35W, TEXAS — All northbound main lanes of Interstate 35W are closed between Mile Marker 8 and Mile Marker 10 following a traffic accident at a bridge. The full closure extends from just south of FM-66 to north of FM-67, generating severe northbound traffic backups.
Emergency personnel and incident clearance teams are actively working at the bridge site to assess damage and remove the blockage. Heavy traffic conditions are reported throughout the area, and no official detour route has been established.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the blockage began at approximately 11:52 a.m. and is currently estimated to remain closed until around 5:00 p.m.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers are advised to plan alternate routes to avoid extended travel delays along this stretch of I-35W. We will update this report as further clearance information becomes available.
