UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - October 27, 2026 12:05 AM UTC RM-474 (Blanco Road) has reopened in both directions from just east of US-87 to approximately one mile east of US-87. The previous closure and detour are no longer in effect.
RM-474, TEXAS — Northbound and southbound lanes on RM-474 (Blanco Road) are completely closed to traffic east of US-87 in Kendall County due to a public special event. The closure affects traffic from 84 feet east of US-87 extending approximately 1.08 miles east at Mile Marker 476, causing significant local travel delays.
TxDOT and local personnel have established detours around the affected corridor. Crews and traffic control officers are on-site directing motorists onto detour routes to maintain regional traffic flow.
According to official traffic management reports, the event-related closure began at 6:02 PM and is estimated to conclude around 7:00 PM, at which point lanes are expected to reopen.
Drivers and commercial dispatchers should avoid the stretch of RM-474 near US-87 and utilize alternate routes to prevent delivery and travel delays. We will update this report as TxDOT provides additional information.
