EASTBOUND I-20, TEXAS — All eastbound main lanes of Interstate 20 are completely shut down near Interstate 45 at mile marker 473 due to ongoing police activity. The blockage extends from approximately a half-mile west of I-45 to immediately before the interchange, bringing all eastbound traffic to a halt.
Emergency responders and law enforcement personnel are on scene conducting operations and managing traffic. No official detours have been established at this location, resulting in heavy congestion and major delays along the corridor.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the closure began at approximately 9:45 a.m. Crews and investigators currently estimate the scene will clear and lanes will reopen by 2:00 p.m.
Motorists and commercial freight operators are advised to avoid the area and plan alternate routes around the I-20 and I-45 junction. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
