SOUTHBOUND I-820 — All southbound mainlanes of Interstate 820 are closed at the US-287 interchange (Mile Marker 33) in Tarrant County. The complete shutdown extends from approximately 0.24 miles north of US-287 to just south of the junction.
TxDOT personnel have closed all travel lanes to traffic and established a marked detour route. Southbound motorists and commercial vehicles are required to exit the highway and follow the designated detour signage to bypass the work zone.
The overnight closure took effect at 11:00 PM on October 21 and is scheduled to conclude by 6:00 AM on October 22, 2026, at which point all lanes are expected to reopen.
Motorists and freight dispatchers should plan ahead for travel across southern Fort Worth and allow extra time to navigate the detour route. We will update this report as soon as new information becomes available.
