NORTHBOUND I-35, TEXAS — High water has been reported over the roadway along the northbound Interstate 35 frontage road, spanning from roughly half a mile to nearly one mile north of Interstate 410. TxDOT reports severe ponding affecting the frontage lanes around mile marker 168.
TxDOT crews and maintenance units are responding to monitor flood levels and clear road drainage. While no official detour route has been designated, drivers face hazardous road conditions through the ponded corridor.
Conditions were first reported at approximately 1:41 p.m., with TxDOT officials projecting the hazard to be cleared and normal travel restored by around 5:00 p.m.
Commercial truck drivers and local commuters should exercise extreme caution, reduce speed, and avoid standing water along the frontage lanes. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
