US-87, TEXAS — Both northbound and southbound lanes of US-87 are completely closed south of FM-722 at Mile Marker 96 following a traffic accident. The closure impacts all travel lanes in both directions.
Emergency responders and road crews are currently on scene managing the closure. Lanes remain fully blocked to through traffic, and an active detour has been established to route vehicles around the incident.
TxDOT estimates the crash will be cleared and lanes reopened by approximately 5:00 PM.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers are advised to plan for detours and monitor routing in the area. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
