EASTBOUND LOOP 8, TEXAS — A traffic accident has forced the closure of the eastbound Loop 8 frontage road U-turn approximately 1.8 miles east of Interstate 45 near Mile Marker 714. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the main freeway lanes remain completely open, with the blockage restricted solely to the frontage road turnaround.
Emergency response and clearance personnel are on scene working to resolve the incident and clear the vehicle. No formal detours are posted at this location, and major travel delays have not been reported on the primary lanes.
Officials currently estimate that clearance operations will continue through approximately 6:00 PM, at which point the turnaround is expected to reopen to traffic.
