SOUTHBOUND US-59, TEXAS — All southbound main lanes of US-59 are closed following a major incident reported Wednesday morning. The complete closure spans between Mile Marker 0568 and Mile Marker 0572, from roughly 0.6 miles north of FM-102 to just north of FM-961.
Emergency crews and TxDOT personnel are actively responding at the scene to manage traffic. A detour has been implemented to divert motorists around the closed highway section, though heavy congestion is already impacting the corridor.
Due to the severity of the closure, traffic officials anticipate the roadway will remain blocked through the early afternoon. The current estimated clearance time is set for approximately 3:30 PM.
