UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - October 28, 2026 3:40 PM UTC Northbound I-35 near Loop 2 has reopened following an earlier barrier strike. The exit ramp and right lane are now open to traffic.
NORTHBOUND I-35, TEXAS — A traffic collision involving a struck barrier has forced the closure of the right lane and an exit ramp on northbound Interstate 35 near Loop 2. The incident affects traffic between mile markers 333 and 334, creating major delays through the corridor.
Clearance and maintenance crews are currently en route to evaluate the structural barrier damage and remove roadway obstructions. No formal detours are posted at this time, leaving traffic squeezed through the remaining open lanes.
TxDOT estimates the affected lane and ramp will be cleared by approximately 1:00 PM, provided cleanup and barrier containment proceed without further complications.
Drivers and freight dispatchers should plan for prolonged travel times through the area or divert to secondary corridors to avoid the bottleneck. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
