SOUTHBOUND I-820, TEXAS — The southbound Interstate 820 exit ramp connecting to eastbound Interstate 20 is completely closed to traffic near mile marker 34 in Tarrant County. The closure affects the roadway starting approximately 0.37 miles north of I-20 down to the interchange connection.
TxDOT crews have shut down the ramp for nighttime operations, and an official detour is currently active. Signs are posted along the corridor directing drivers and commercial vehicle operators around the closure point.
Work commenced at 9:00 PM on October 27, 2026, and the ramp is scheduled to reopen by 6:00 AM on October 28, 2026, ahead of the morning rush hour.
Freight dispatchers and motorists traveling through south Fort Worth should plan for extra travel time along the detour route or select alternate paths to connect with eastbound I-20. We will update this report if road conditions change or if the ramp reopens ahead of schedule.
