SOUTHBOUND I-35 — A high-severity left lane closure is scheduled on southbound Interstate 35 near mile marker 468, spanning from 0.28 miles north of the I-35W interchange to 322 feet south of I-35W. The overnight closure is required for ongoing highway construction operations.
Crews are installing low-profile concrete barriers to secure work zones for shoring and MSE wall construction along the southbound corridor between Oak Street and West Prairie Street. A designated detour is in place to direct traffic around the active work area.
The overnight restriction begins at 9:00 p.m. on October 21, 2026, with all lanes expected to reopen by 5:00 a.m. on October 22, 2026.
Commercial truck drivers and motorists should plan alternate routes, follow posted detour signs, and reduce speed when traveling through the active work zone. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
