SH-45, TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS — Both eastbound and westbound lanes of State Highway 45 are experiencing severe travel disruptions from 7.7 miles to 13.1 miles east of SH-130, near mile marker 580. TxDOT has issued a maximum severity alert for the corridor due to hazardous icy road conditions, and travel along this stretch is strongly discouraged.
Traffic management personnel have implemented active detours to route motorists away from the affected area. Road crews are on the scene monitoring surface conditions and managing closures to prevent collisions on the ice.
TxDOT currently lists an extended clearance and maintenance window running through August 25, 2027, at 4:30 PM, though conditions may change as weather response operations continue.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers should avoid this segment of SH-45 entirely and utilize alternate east-west routes. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
