EAST AND WESTBOUND SH-165, TEXAS — Both eastbound and westbound lanes of State Highway 165 are shut down from 0.055 miles to 0.072 miles east of SH-165B at mile marker 0442 due to hazardous icy conditions. The incident carries a maximum severity rating, and an official detour is currently in place to divert traffic around the affected corridor.
Traffic management crews and local maintenance personnel are actively monitoring the roadway and managing detour signage. TxDOT advises that travel along this stretch is strongly discouraged until driving surfaces can be safely restored.
Current roadway projections indicate that traffic impacts and control operations are estimated to continue through August 25, 2027, at approximately 4:30 p.m.
