SH-130, TEXAS — Both northbound and southbound lanes of State Highway 130 are facing major travel impacts between mile marker 426 (north of SH-45) and mile marker 456 (south of FM-812) in Travis County. Transportation officials have issued a maximum-severity alert, warning that travel along this 30-mile corridor is strongly discouraged due to dangerous icy roadway conditions.
Traffic management teams have initiated active detours around the affected stretch to divert motorists away from hazardous pavement. Highway maintenance crews are on site assessing the roadway, though drivers already in the area should anticipate heavy delays and slow-moving traffic.
The alert officially took effect on November 6, 2026, at 11:13 AM, with TxDOT estimating clearance and hazard mitigation operations could extend through August 25, 2027, at 4:30 PM.
Commercial vehicle operators and regional dispatchers should route freight along designated alternate corridors and avoid SH-130 through south Travis County. We will update this report as soon as TxDOT releases further operational updates or conditions clear.
