TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS — Hazardous icy conditions have led to severe traffic disruptions across both eastbound and westbound lanes of State Highway 45. The impacted corridor stretches from just west of RM-1826 to 0.37 miles north of FM-1626, spanning mile markers 582 through 586. Authorities are actively discouraging travel along this segment due to unsafe roadway conditions.
Traffic management personnel have established active detours to redirect commercial and passenger vehicles around the affected area. Road crews are deployed to monitor conditions and manage diversions as delays continue to build in both directions.
The disruption began at 11:13 a.m. on November 6, 2026. TxDOT officials currently list an estimated clearance and end time of August 25, 2027, at 4:30 p.m., though timeline adjustments may occur depending on field assessments and conditions.
Motorists and freight dispatchers are strongly urged to plan alternate routes and bypass the corridor entirely. We will update this report as additional details become available.
