EAST AND WESTBOUND SH-45, TEXAS — Hazardous ice and snow accumulations have forced detours and severe delays on both eastbound and westbound SH-45 between Mile Marker 524 and Mile Marker 622, spanning from 708 feet south of SH-130 to 0.19 miles west of the junction. Freezing conditions have severely impacted bridges and overpasses throughout the corridor, presenting critical hazards for motorists and commercial freight operators.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews are actively deployed across the area, running snowplows and patrolling the highway to treat frozen sections of the roadway. Official detours have been established to route traffic around the most hazardous segments while clearance efforts remain underway.
TxDOT response activities began at approximately 9:44 a.m. on November 6, 2026, with elevated winter response and remediation operations projected to remain active through April 22, 2027.
Motorists and dispatchers are urged to bypass this stretch of SH-45 and utilize alternate routes to avoid dangerous travel conditions and extended travel delays. We will update this report as TxDOT provides updates on roadway clearance and reopening timelines.
