EASTBOUND I-10, TEXAS — A traffic incident on eastbound Interstate 10 has prompted the closure of the right travel lane between Mile Marker 229 and Mile Marker 231. The restriction is situated roughly 15.5 miles east of FM-2448 and 17.1 miles west of US-67, reducing eastbound flow to a single open travel lane and causing building traffic delays.
Highway response units and traffic management crews are on-site actively working the scene. No official detour has been established, requiring all commercial and passenger traffic along the corridor to merge into the left lane to navigate past the closure area.
TxDOT first logged the incident at 4:48 PM on November 5, 2026. Crews estimate that clearance operations will continue until approximately 7:00 PM, though congestion may linger after the roadway fully reopens.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers are advised to adjust arrival schedules or consider alternate east-west routes to avoid the bottleneck. We will update this report as soon as new information becomes available.
