EASTBOUND I-10, TEXAS — A traffic incident has forced the closure of the right lane on eastbound Interstate 10 between Mile Marker 229 and Mile Marker 231, located approximately 15 miles east of FM-2448 and 17 miles west of US-67. Eastbound travel lanes are currently reduced to a single open lane, resulting in traffic congestion through the area.
Highway crews and emergency personnel are on the scene working to manage the blockage and secure the roadway. With no official detour route established, all eastbound traffic must merge into the single remaining lane to pass the incident site.
Texas Department of Transportation officials estimate that clearance efforts will continue until approximately 5:00 PM. Traffic delays are anticipated to persist until the obstruction is removed and normal traffic flow is restored.
Drivers and fleet dispatchers routing through this segment of I-10 should reduce speeds, maintain extra following distance, and allow additional travel time. We will update this report as soon as more information becomes available.
