EASTBOUND I-10, TEXAS — A major traffic incident has forced the closure of all eastbound main lanes on Interstate 10 between mile markers 229 and 231, located approximately 15.5 miles east of FM-2448 and 17 miles west of US-67. The severe blockage was first reported at approximately 2:27 PM.
Traffic management crews are currently on scene operating one-way traffic control through the area. The lane restrictions are generating significant backups for both commercial freight operators and passenger vehicles traveling through the corridor.
Transportation officials estimate that clearance operations will conclude and lanes will reopen by approximately 5:00 PM. Travel conditions may remain congested as the accumulated queue clears.
Drivers and dispatchers are advised to reduce speed, expect substantial travel delays, or seek alternate routes across the region. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
