EASTBOUND I-20, TEXAS — Multiple lanes are closed on eastbound Interstate 20 near Jim Hogg Road following a major traffic accident. The incident spans from just east of FM-849 to west of FM-14, affecting a nine-mile stretch between Mile Marker 552 and Mile Marker 561.
Emergency response personnel and clearance crews are on scene managing the blockage and directing traffic. Due to the high severity of the collision, an official detour has been established to route traffic around the affected corridor.
TxDOT estimates that recovery and clearance operations will continue through the afternoon, with an anticipated clearing time around 3:15 p.m.
