SH-130, TEXAS — Severe winter conditions have created hazardous driving conditions along State Highway 130 in both the northbound and southbound directions, spanning from 7.23 miles south of FM-812 to 1.076 miles north of SH-45. Heavy snow and ice accumulation on bridges, overpasses, and travel lanes between mile markers 426 and 456 have caused major traffic delays and required active detours.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) winter weather maintenance crews are actively patrolling the corridor and operating plows to clear the frozen surfaces. Due to the high severity of the road conditions, authorities have established detours and are strongly advising all traffic to bypass this stretch.
The current TxDOT emergency operational window for clearing and treatment across this corridor is estimated to extend through April 22, 2027, at 5:45 PM, with local conditions subject to change as plowing operations progress.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers should reroute around this segment of SH-130 and maintain extreme following distances if operating in the surrounding area. We will update this report as TxDOT provides new information or road conditions change.
