EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND RM 1431, TEXAS — Hazardous ice and snow conditions have led to severe traffic delays and active detours on both eastbound and westbound RM 1431. The impacted segment extends from Mile Marker 0554 to Mile Marker 0532, spanning from 1.822 miles west of US 183 to 3.852 miles south of RM 1174. Ice accumulation has made bridges, overpasses, and main travel lanes treacherous for transit.
TxDOT response crews are actively patrolling the corridor and conducting plowing operations to treat and clear frozen roadway surfaces. Official detours are in effect, and authorities are directing traffic to seek alternate routes to bypass the affected stretch.
Operations to manage the corridor began on November 6, 2026, at 9:44 a.m., with current TxDOT tracking estimating the hazard window and maintenance response to extend through April 22, 2027, at 5:45 p.m., depending on ongoing conditions.
Motorists and freight dispatchers should plan for extensive travel delays, utilize detour routes, and exercise extreme caution over elevated structures and bridges. We will update this report as TxDOT provides new information.
