EASTBOUND I-10, TEXAS — A complete closure of the eastbound Interstate 10 main lanes is in effect from mile marker 608 to mile marker 610. The shutdown spans between Rio Nogales Drive and State Highway 123, roughly half a mile east of FM 78, due to active road construction operations.
All eastbound highway traffic is being detoured onto the adjacent frontage road. With all main lanes obstructed, heavy freight and passenger traffic is funneling through the service road, leading to significant corridor backups.
TxDOT crews initiated the full closure at 9:00 PM on October 30, and the roadway is estimated to remain blocked until approximately 12:00 PM on October 31.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers are advised to allocate additional travel time or seek alternative routing around the construction zone. We will update this report as TxDOT provides new information.
