EAST AND WESTBOUND SH 165, TEXAS — Severe winter conditions have forced closures and significant disruptions across east and westbound lanes of State Highway 165. The blockage is located near mile marker 442, spanning from 0.055 miles to 0.072 miles east of SH-165B, where heavy ice and snow have coated bridges, overpasses, and main roadway lanes.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews are on scene actively patrolling and plowing the affected corridor to treat road surfaces. Official detours are in effect, and highway officials have advised all drivers to bypass the area and utilize designated alternate routes.
Due to the severity of conditions and ongoing treatment efforts, TxDOT estimates the operational window for clearance could extend through April 22, 2027, at approximately 5:45 PM.
Commercial motor vehicle operators and dispatchers are advised to reroute shipments around the area and maintain extreme caution across all elevated structures. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
