EAST AND WESTBOUND RM 620, TEXAS — Hazardous ice and snow accumulation on bridges, overpasses, and travel lanes has prompted traffic detours along east and westbound RM 620 near RM 2222 at mile marker 520. The severe winter road conditions have led to significant travel delays across both directions of travel.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) winter weather crews are on scene actively patrolling, treating, and plowing the affected corridor. Designated detours have been established, and officials are instructing motorists to bypass the section using alternate routes.
TxDOT currently estimates that winter weather operations and active roadway monitoring will remain in effect through April 22, 2027, at approximately 5:45 p.m., subject to ongoing weather patterns and road conditions.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers should reroute freight away from this corridor and exercise extreme caution when navigating bridges and elevated ramps in the region. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
