NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND RM-12, TEXAS — Severe winter conditions have forced active traffic detours and major delays along northbound and southbound RM-12 between 0.489 miles and 0.954 miles south of RM-3238 at mile marker 440. Ice and snow accumulation across bridges, overpasses, and the main roadway have created hazardous conditions in both directions.
TxDOT response crews are actively patrolling the corridor and running plows to clear ice from the road surface. Official detours have been established to direct traffic safely around the impacted stretch, and drivers are strongly urged to take alternate routes.
TxDOT operations and winter maintenance measures for this corridor are currently projected to remain active through April 22, 2027, at approximately 5:45 p.m.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers should avoid RM-12 in this sector, reroute freight across safer corridors, and exercise extreme caution on bridge decks. We will update this report as soon as new information becomes available.
