SOUTHBOUND I-35, TEXAS — A police investigation into a building fire has prompted closures along the southbound Interstate 35 frontage road (Santa Ursula Avenue) south of US-59 in Webb County. The closure spans from mile marker 2 to mile marker 1. Officials confirm that I-35 main lanes are not affected by the incident.
A marked detour has been established to direct commercial traffic and local motorists around the perimeter of the active investigation. Laredo Police Department personnel and traffic control units are on scene to manage local flow and monitor the detour corridor.
Due to the ongoing nature of the structural investigation, traffic impacts and detour operations are currently estimated to remain active through December 13, 2026, at approximately 5:00 PM.
