SH 158, TEXAS — Both eastbound and westbound lanes of SH 158 are completely closed at the intersection of County Road 60, situated approximately 1.85 miles east of SH-349. The roadway closure spans from mile marker 274 to mile marker 276 due to ongoing construction operations, causing significant traffic disruption in both directions.
TxDOT crews have established a designated detour to route traffic around the work zone. Motorists and commercial drivers must follow the marked detour routes, as the intersection remains impassable while heavy construction is underway.
The roadway closure took effect on November 3, 2026, and is currently estimated to remain active until approximately 5:30 p.m. on December 15, 2026, subject to weather conditions and project progression.
Commercial dispatchers and regional drivers should plan alternate freight routes to circumvent the closed intersection and avoid lengthy detours. We will update this report as TxDOT releases further updates or modifies the project timeline.
