SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. - A ramp connecting Interstate 291 to Interstate 91 was shut down Monday afternoon following a tractor-trailer rollover that triggered a diesel oil spill.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, with fire officials announcing the road closure around 1:30 p.m. The westbound ramp from I-291 to I-91 southbound will remain closed until hazardous spills are cleaned up and the wreckage is cleared.
At the time of the crash, the tractor-trailer was hauling bales of trash. Fire officials confirmed that the driver managed to self-extricate from the vehicle and sustained only minor injuries.
