US 77 ALTERNATE, TEXAS — Both northbound and southbound lanes of US 77 Alternate are fully closed to traffic near mile marker 500 due to active construction operations. The closure affects the roadway from 533 feet west of US 90 Alternate to approximately 0.47 miles west of US 90 Alternate.
TxDOT crews have shut down the roadway to facilitate the work, and an official detour route has been established to guide motorists and commercial vehicles around the active work zone.
Work on the corridor began on November 4, 2026, and the roadway closure is currently projected to remain in place through January 4, 2027, with an estimated reopening time of 5:30 p.m.
Drivers and freight dispatchers should account for the closure when planning routes through the area and follow all posted detour signage. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
