EASTBOUND I-20, TEXAS — A major traffic collision has forced the closure of multiple lanes along eastbound Interstate 20 near Jim Hogg Road. The closure impacts the corridor from just east of FM-849 to west of FM-14, spanning mile markers 552 through 561, causing heavy traffic backups.
Emergency response units and highway clearance crews are actively on scene managing the situation. Active detours have been established to redirect traffic around the heavily congested area as personnel work to clear the wreckage.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, clearance operations for the maximum-severity incident are estimated to last until approximately 5:15 PM.
