UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - November 7, 2026 4:35 AM UTC
Both northbound and southbound lanes of US-385 south of FM-300 have reopened following an earlier accident closure.
US-385, TEXAS — A major accident has completely shut down both northbound and southbound lanes of US-385 south of FM-300 near Mile Marker 220. The collision, reported shortly after 9:15 PM, has forced a full closure of the highway stretching from roughly 2.5 miles south to 1 mile south of the FM-300 intersection.
Emergency response personnel and traffic management crews are actively working at the scene. All travel lanes remain blocked to traffic, and a detour is currently in place to guide approaching motorists around the incident perimeter.
TxDOT currently estimates the roadway will remain closed until approximately 10:30 PM as vehicle recovery and crash investigation efforts continue.
Drivers and freight dispatchers navigating through this corridor should seek alternate routes to bypass the closure and anticipate travel delays. We will update this report as soon as more information becomes available.
