Substantial ice and snow accumulation has been reported on bridges, overpasses, and main highway lanes, presenting severe travel impacts and prompting designated detour routes.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews are actively patrolling and plowing the affected corridor to treat frozen surfaces. Active detours have been established, and transportation officials are urging drivers to bypass the area entirely using alternate routes.
This incident began at 9:44 a.m. on November 6, 2026, with safety measures and roadway monitoring estimated to remain in place through 5:45 p.m. on April 22, 2027, as maintenance personnel manage ongoing conditions.
Commercial truck drivers, fleet dispatchers, and commuter traffic should expect delays, avoid elevated roadways where possible, and proceed with extreme caution. We will update this report as road conditions change or TxDOT provides additional updates.
