NORTHBOUND LOOP 1, TEXAS — A major traffic incident has forced the complete closure of the northbound main lanes on Loop 1 near US-183. The shutdown affects the corridor near mile marker 432 in Travis County, bringing northbound traffic to a halt just north of the US-183 interchange.
Emergency crews and highway response personnel are currently on the scene conducting clearance and traffic control operations. Officials have classified the incident as high severity, and travel along this stretch of Loop 1 is actively discouraged.
TxDOT estimates the closure will remain in place until approximately 3:30 a.m. on November 3, 2026. This reopening timeframe may shift as response units continue on-site work.
Freight dispatchers and commercial drivers are strongly advised to route around the area using alternate regional corridors such as Interstate 35. We will update this report as soon as lanes reopen or additional details are confirmed.
