SOUTHBOUND SH-121, TEXAS — The two left lanes are closed along southbound SH-121 (Airport Freeway) from near FM-3029 (Precinct Line Road) to just north of the Interstate 820 interchange. The closure impacts general purpose lanes around mile marker 296, substantially restricting capacity through the major junction.
Traffic management personnel have established an active detour to guide vehicles around the blocked travel lanes. Due to the major lane reduction approaching the I-820 and SH-183 split, TxDOT has classified the incident as a maximum severity disruption.
The lane blockages began at 8:00 p.m. on November 6, 2026, and are scheduled to remain in effect until approximately 10:00 a.m. on November 7, 2026.
Drivers and dispatchers should plan for alternate routes or follow posted detour signs to avoid the corridor. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
