SOUTHBOUND I-35 — The left lane of southbound Interstate 35 is scheduled for closure near the I-35W junction at Mile Marker 468 due to active construction operations. The work zone extends from 0.28 miles north of I-35W to 322 feet south of the split.
TxDOT crews will be installing low-profile concrete barriers along the corridor from Oak Street to West Prairie Street to safeguard workers and motorists during shoring and MSE wall construction. A signed detour is in place to direct traffic safely around the lane restriction.
This nighttime operation will take effect starting at 9:00 PM on October 21, 2026, with the roadway expected to fully reopen by 5:00 AM on October 22, 2026.
Commercial freight operators and overnight motorists are advised to observe reduced work-zone speed limits, stay alert for construction equipment, and follow detour signage. We will update this report as TxDOT releases further updates.
