NORTHBOUND I-35E, TEXAS — Alternating lanes are closed on the northbound I-35E frontage road near FM-1171 at Mile Marker 452. The work zone extends from 37 feet south of FM-1171 to 0.36 miles north of the intersection while road crews complete striping and tie-in work for a traffic switch. Main highway lanes remain open and are unaffected by this operation.
TxDOT crews are actively working along the frontage road, and an official detour has been established to route local traffic around the alternating lane closures. Flaggers and warning signs are stationed throughout the construction corridor to guide motorists safely past the work area.
The daytime-only closures began at 9:00 a.m. on November 5, 2026, and operations are estimated to wrap up by 3:00 p.m. on November 6, 2026. Restrictions are lifted outside of daytime work hours.
Commercial truck drivers and local motorists should reduce speed, watch for work crews on the roadway, and follow all posted detour signs. We will update this report as additional information becomes available.
